Open until November 17 when the winner will be selected and celebrated at Performance Boat Center in Osage Beach, Mo., a Lake of the Ozarks Shootout raffle for two sporting clay shotguns has taken a great turn. From now until the winning ticket is drawn, all money raised through raffle-ticket sales will go to one of the charities-the Fort Myers Beach #WeAreFMB Resilient recovery fund-supported by the upcoming Speed On The Water "Racing To Rebuild" 2022 Key West Bash presented by CMR Construction and Roofing.
The party is set for November 10 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., at the Sandbar Sports Grill on Greene Street.
Two Kolar Max Lite Sporter Over and Under Sporting Clays 12-gauge shotguns with upgraded wood, the items are valued at $13,500. Each raffle ticket costs $100 and can be purchased by clicking here.
Connecting charitable efforts from the Midwest to Key West was the brainchild of Leah Martin, the executive director of the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. Both of the shotgun winners are going to be chosen during the aforementioned event at Performance Boat Center, which is the presenting sponsor of the Shootout as well as the 2022 American Power Boat Association/Union Internationale Motonautique Offshore World Championships.
"We have covered our costs for both guns and raised money through the raffle for our own charities," Martin explained. "I thought this would be a nice way to connect our charitable efforts with those coming up in Key West during the offshore world championships this week. The Lake of the Ozarks has become a hotbed for offshore racing teams. Pairing them up made sense, so I reached out to (offshore racer) Shaun Torrente."
Torrente, in turn, connected Martin to the Speed On The Water Key West Bash party-planning team.
Though raffle tickets are going to be sold at the CMR Construction and Roofing raceboat (and more) display in front of the Sandbar on Greene Street, which will be closed during the party, would-be raffle participants are encouraged to purchase tickets online.
