Performance Boat Center Fall Fun Run Presents A Perfect Season-Finale

Written by Matt Trulio

From mid-May through the late August, the Lake of the Ozarks is flush with exceptional go-fast boating events-from Performance Boat Center's Spring Fun Run and Outboard Fun Run to Big Thunder Marine's Support Our Troops Poker Run and Baja, Fountain, Donzi Fun Run-all in advance of the annual Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. But the Central Missouri waterway calms down, figuratively and literally, after the Shootout is complete and its out-of-state devotees head home.

Thanks to Performance Boat Center, one organized event remains on the 2022 Lake of the Ozarks Roster. Set for Saturday, October 15, the MTI, Performance Powerboats, Sunsation Powerboats and Velocity Powerboats dealer's annual Fall Fun Run gives go-fast boating fans a last hurrah before winter descends on the area.

While the dealership's Spring Fun Run attracted a record-setting 97 boats this year, the fall version likely will boast a smaller fleet of 50 to 60 boats, according to Performance Boat Center's Brett Manire. For locals and out-of-towners who appreciate smaller groups such as Michigan's Burton Kirsten, who has a second home at the lake, it's a don't-miss happening.

"It's more like family at the fall run," said Kirsten, who plans to participate and "probably" will run his canopied MTI 390X catamaran in the event.

The run also is among the favorites of the Performance Boat Center crew.

"The Shootout and some of our other events are lots of work and great, but with little 'fun' for us," Manire said. "The Fall Fun Run is low stress and high fun with a great group of people and bad-ass boats."

Registration for the event is still open and there is no entry fee.
