Mercury Marine Offering Extended Warranty Program For Outboard Engines
Written by Matt Trulio
With four major events currently running-boot Düsseldorf in Germany, the Detroit Boat Show, the St. Petersburg Power and Sailboat Show and the Toronto Boat Show-show season is officially underway, so the timing of Mercury Marine's latest extended warranty program for new outboard engines from 2.5 to 400 hp makes perfect sense. The program, which can translate to up to seven years of protection for 350- and 400-hp offerings from the Fond du Lac, Wis., kicked off this week and runs through March 31.
According to a Mercury Marine press release, the company is offering its standard three-year limited warranty plus two years of additional factory-backed Mercury Product Protection Gold coverage with the purchase on new outboards in the above noted power range from participating authored dealers.
For new Mercury L6 400- and 350-hp Verado outboard during the promotion, buyers will receive two additional years of MPP Gold coverage. That translates to seven years of protection.
As will all such promotions, there are conditions and caveats. Per the release, outboards must be registered in the United States by April 15 to receive additional warranty coverage. Would-be buyers should contact an authorized Mercury Marine dealer for more information on the program.
